What to look for on a collagen label
Source, ingredient weight and nutrition are different details.
Start with the source
Collagen products can use different animal sources. The Muscleatine product uses hydrolysed bovine collagen peptides. Bovine collagen is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.
A 10 g fill is a net weight
Net contents tells you the weight of the product in the sachet. It does not, by itself, establish the amount of protein. The final nutrition information panel is the place to check the product’s nutrition.
Read all ingredients
A product name does not tell the full story. Check the complete ingredients and allergen information on the final label, particularly when comparing a single-ingredient product with a flavoured blend.
Keep the comparison honest
Compare the source, actual pack contents, price and delivery. Do not treat collagen as interchangeable with every other protein product. Refer to the supplied product label for nutrition and directions.
